Despite my campers’ hilarious performance, peacocks do not practice kung fu or any other martial art. I think they’ve seen the new Kung Fu Panda movie a few too many times.
The kids are using peacock feathers which they found scattered around the zoo. Peacock feathers, from the males, are brightly colored with blue and green and used to attract mates. Peahen feathers, from the females, are instead colored with shades of brown and gray. Peachicks are also colored light brown, and they somewhat resemble ducklings until they mature.
